ABOUT THE PROJECT: East west metro is the second metro line being constructed in Kolkata linking Howrah in the east to Salt Lake in the west. It travels underground to cross river Hooghly and emerges above ground near the E M Byepass to serve the new part of Kolkata and its suburbs. The metro stations are elevated in this part of the line.
