ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The summer palace at Peermedu was constructed by Swathi Thirunal as a refuge
from the pressures of kingly duties in the ‘Nalukettu’ style, i.e. a quadrangle building with an open
courtyard in the middle, with high slanting gabled roofs. It is now proposed to re-interpret the summer
palace as a heritage resort, providing an opportunity for a luxurious retreat in the idyllic countryside
of Kerala.
